DescriptionFlowers was Warhol's first purely decorative subject. Approaching it much as he did his portraits, Warhol selected a stylized pattern and high key, contrasting palette that transformed a hibiscus flower print from a Kodak ad into a highly identifiable, abstracted design. Warhol would repeat this imagery over and over via the screen printing process, differentiating the pictures only by color and the number of repetitions.
