DescriptionThe shape of the polypod supports is suggestive of the female breasts. Labbe (1986:31) proposes that there is a relationship between form and symbolism. A negative resist is faintly visible on the inside of the bowl. This type of iridescent resist was first developed by the Chorrera of Ecuador (1500-500 BCE).- Art of the Ancient Americas
