DescriptionThis faja comes from the town of Panajachel, along Lake Atitlán. Sashes and belts are typically made by men in this village on a small floor loom. Red cotton with black and white ikat, or patch dyed, thread is the base of this piece, with elaborate multi-colored brocade on top.
