DescriptionThis child's huipil for a young girl is woven of red cotton decorated with ducks and a symbol that may represent either a child or a flower. This is an important early example of designs that continue well into the 1980’s. At the time this piece was collected children were always dressed in traje, or traditional clothing. Today the cost in time and materials of a hand made piece of child’s clothing is out of the reach of many working Maya families.
