    DescriptionOne of the famous volcanoes just outside the colonial town of Antigua, Mount Agua can clearly be seen through the archway in this 1930’s era photograph. Weavers from throughout the Maya highlands travel to Antigua to sell textiles in public markets and at the many textile specialty shops. Hoit came to Miami in 1914, when he was 27 and for over forty years took aerial and still photographs for the movie industry and local dignitaries such as George Merrick.
