DescriptionThis very small pot was used to hold pigment, perhaps for decorating a Maya ceramic vase or bark book, or for facial and body tattoos. It is decorated with a bearded face, which may reference the Sun god, Kinich Ahau, or one of the pahuatuns, the four old gods of the earth.
