DescriptionThis iconographically rare and important bowl with resist fire decoration is similar to the stone benches supported by jaguars produced by the Manteño culture. The jaguar represented the transformed state of the shaman under the influence of hallucinogens. This bowl might have been used by a shaman during ritual ceremonies.
