    DescriptionThis simple figure represents a war captive or sacrificial victim. The figure is tied to a large rock and even the highly abstracted facial features convey despair and pain. The long nose, elongated forehead, and coffee-bean eyes, resemble the Gingerbread sub-style within the Colima ceramic tradition. The depiction of a captive is rare in Colima ceramic figurines, which generally emphasize subjects of everyday life.
